Greetings, Traveler.
You are passing through the United Federation of Planets' region of space. Feel free to look around our website and see who we are and what we have to offer. UFP was formed in 2005 by the union of two great veteran fleets, Federation Command [FC] and the Federation [FEDS], with the desire to make the biggest and best trek-only fleet in the entire community. UFP supports as many trek games as practicle and will certainly adopt future Star Trek games, we truly hope you will enjoy our web site and our forums.
UFP is always looking for new recruits. Please take a good look at our fleet infrastructure and if you have what it takes don't hesitate to join us. If you've seen enough to convince you alread, click here to join us now!
UFP was formed under the precepts of fair game play and equal opportunity. Every cadet who enters the Fleet may one day become Fleet Admiral if he or she is of the right material, or at least go very far in the clan if they present themselves as capable and willing officers. We have many Veteran officers with heaps of experience that are willing to help you develop any aspect of leadership, gaming, diplomacy, or even role-playing. This means that if trek is your thing, you'll feel right at home here.
Starting to get interested now? I hope so. Below is a summary of what we have to offer:
- Increased enjoyment of online gaming
- Trek-only atmosphere and member pool
- Diverse fleet with people from all around the globe
- Military-style command structure
- Stable Fleet structure
If you're here as a visiting diplomat, please review our Foreign Policy before posting. This ensures that you know what we expect from foreign diplomats and will ensure the most efficient diplomatic relations possible.

Greetings Foreign Diplomats, Visitors, UFP Officers.
For some time the UFP Website has lacked all but basic functionality. As part of UFP's 2008 plan the Website shall be overhauled and its content completed, rosters updated and most importantly legislation made available and kept up to date. This will require the co-operation of all UFP Departments, Starfleet, and Command to do some well needed maintanance. Officers in the News Team will require training in the use of our News Client, as will Fleet Commanders and Councillors.
The objective here is de-bugging and content creation, not re-designing. Officers and Visitors are asked to be patient during this transitional time. If something does not work, do not report it yet. There will be a time when the website is complete that we will ask for you to help de-bug it, but until then just watch and wait.
In the meantime, the forums are still fully operational so all visitors and foreign delegates are encouraged to make contact with us here.
Thank you for your time.
Admiral Jesse Fleet Executive, The United Federation of Planets.

Council address to the Fleet

Council Statement:
Officers of the United Federation of Planets. Recent events have been a mix of highs and lows, from the crushing defeat of UFDF to the theft of UFP web property. We've seen a major influx of new officers and our junior ranks are being bolstered. We are also seeing more ex-FC officers returning to UFP as they recognise that UFP is as much their home as the old FC was, as well as officers from other fleets that recognise UFP as the best trek gaming fleet in the community. The council welcomes you all aboard, and thanks you for choosing the United Federation of Planets.
The Fleet Admiral recently declared victory against a small Fleet called GF. They refused to engage UFP officers so we had to base our victory over only one battle between UFP Worf and their CO. It was, naturally, a win. However, this just shows us that the community is no longer mature enough to engage in proper wars and is why we have been placed into condition blue by the Fleet Admiral. Condition Blue is a diplomatic isolation alert, we do not seek out new alliances or changes in relations and generally do not get involved in external matters unless our previously signed pacts require us. We do this in order to draft new war legislation which we hope will solve the war problem by making a Rules of Engagement act for UFP and getting it wider acceptance throughout the community by looking for new signatories. After this is done we will return to condition green.
The UFP website was down recently. This is because our bandwidth quota had been blown. UFP has been using more than a gigabyte of bandwidth a day, this is an incredible amount for a gaming fleet. We are looking into getting a better plan that will give us more bandwidth to soak up, but we will also be cutting down on the amount of files that are able to be downloaded directly off our site.
The council is always interested in hearing member opinions and we do frequently read the council requests forum. We recently created a new "Politics" forum (a topic in the Entertainment Forum shows how you can view this forum) that is for subscription only. This has already had a major impact as the Entertainment Forum is less cluttered with controversal matters while those who want a bit of deep controversy and discussion and agree to keep an open mind are allowed to access the politics forum. The forum will continue to exist for as long as there is a demand for it, and UFP officers who want to make political points are advised to do so there and only there. A similar policy has been adopted to the Diplomacy forum but this is still under trial, there have been no new topics since the system came into effect so we need to see if foreign diplomats understand how the new system works. However, no more inappropriate posts have been made since, more info to come.
The release of Legacy is just around the corner. The council has already passed legislation to divide UFP up into "Fleets" instead of Squadrons when the new game is released (hence the small icons on the UFP splash page). This will help us separate the new games from the old games, as well as accommodate the expected growth during the new games early days. More information will be made available at a later date.
That is all for now.
Signed, Fleet Admiral Jesse
Council Chairman
